Very expected game in Mersin where 13th ranked Tarsus Bld (3-14) was defeated by fifth ranked Botas (9-8) 76-65 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 11 points. Botas outrebounded Tarsus Bld 37-26 including 31 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. The best player for the winners was American center Michelle Snow (196-80, college: Tennessee, agency: LBM Management) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Botas. They maintain fifth place with 9-8 record. Loser Tarsus Bld keeps the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Botas will meet at home higher ranked Kayseri (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tarsus Bld will play against Konak (#11) in Izmir and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
