An interesting game for Cankaya (14-0) which played road game in Nevsehir against 4th placed Nevsehir Univ. (7-6). Leader Cankaya had an easy win 89-59. The game without a history. Cankaya led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Nevsehir Univ.'s 42. Cankaya forced 27 Nevsehir Univ. turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Sharon Houston (191-88, college: Indiana NW) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Center Gulcin Cantekin (187-84) chipped in 26 points (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field). Nigerian-American power forward Ayesha Barkley (188-87, college: Stetson) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and Canan Karsavran (-92) added 8 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourteenth consecutive win for Cankaya. They maintain first place in Group A with 14-0 record. Nevsehir Univ. at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Cankaya's next round opponent will be 55 Genclik (#8) in Samsun and are hoping to win another game. Nevsehir Univ. will play on the road against Anadolu Univ. (#6) in Eskisehir and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
