Regular Season Round 16: CSU Sibiu - Targu Mures 77-75

Fifth-ranked Targu Mures (10-5) were very close to win a game against first ranked CSU Sibiu (14-3) on Wednesday. CSU Sibiu managed to secure only two-point victory 77-75. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 19-12 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for CSU Sibiu especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of Bosnian-Croatian guard Matija Ceskovic (192-81) who helped to win the game recording 22 points. Serbian guard Milos Bojovic (198-81, agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 19 points and 4 assists for the winners. Serbian Ivan Jelenic (192-85, agency: BeoExcell) replied with 22 points and Lithuanian guard Vaidotas Peciukas (199-82, college: Hawaii) added 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for Targu Mures. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. CSU Sibiu have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 14-3 record. Targu Mures at the other side keep the fifth place with five games lost. CSU Sibiu are looking forward to face CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Targu Mures will play against Pitesti and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
