Regular Season Round 25: Mazeikiai - Delikatesas 72-55

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Mazeikiai. First ranked Mazeikiai faced 3rd placed Delikatesas. Host Mazeikiai (20-3) defeated guests from Joniskis (16-7) 72-55. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Delikatesas. The game was mostly controlled by Mazeikiai. Delikatesas managed to win third quarter 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Swingman Vytautas Pikalavicius (196-90) fired 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Mindaugas Reminas (186-86) chipped in 14 points. Mazeikiai's coach Aloyzas Rudys used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Mantas Pukinskas (198-89) produced 10 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Rokas Cepanonis (206-89) added 11 points respectively for lost side. Mazeikiai have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 20-3 record. Delikatesas at the other side keeps the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Triobet. Mazeikiai are looking forward to face Suduva-Mantinga (#12) in Marijampole in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Delikatesas will play at home against Radviliskis (#14) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
