The game in Herne was also quite interesting. 4th placed BC Pharmaserv Marburg (8-7) played at the court of seventh ranked Herner TC (8-7). Herner TC defeated BC Pharmaserv Marburg 95-85 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BC Pharmaserv Marburg. Herner TC made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded BC Pharmaserv Marburg 44-21 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American point guard Quenese Davis (177-88, college: San Diego St.) who scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. Her fellow American import power forward Teya Wright (185-89, college: Providence) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Herner TC players scored in double figures. Herner TC's coach Marek Piotrowski used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Margret Skuballa (186-87) who recorded 29 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Kellindra Zackery (182-88, college: Newman) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Herner TC moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Marburg and Halle. Herner TC will face TV Saarlouis Royals (#7) at home in the next round. BC Pharmaserv Marburg will play against ChemCats Chemnitz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
