Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked BBC Bayreuth (4-15) was defeated on the road by third ranked ALBA Berlin (15-4) 83-73 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 42-28 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. ALBA Berlin outrebounded BBC Bayreuth 36-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. BBC Bayreuth was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American-Polish point guard David Logan (185-82, college: Indianapolis) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 4 assists. American point guard Clifford Hammonds (191-85, college: Clemson) helped adding 11 points and 5 rebounds. Four ALBA Berlin players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Kyle Weems (198-89, college: Missouri St.) responded with 23 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import point guard William Conroy (187-82, college: Washington) scored 13 points and 7 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. ALBA Berlin have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain third place with 15-4 record having just two points less than leader B.Muenchen. Loser BBC Bayreuth dropped to the seventeenth position with 15 games lost. ALBA Berlin will face ratiopharm Ulm (#7) on the road in the next round. BBC Bayreuth will play against the league's leader Bayern Muenchen (#1) and hope to win that game.
