Very expected game when 13th ranked Craiova (1-15) was crushed at home by fifth ranked Alexandria (12-4) 83-45. The game without a history. Alexandria led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Alexandria forced 25 Craiova turnovers. The former international power forward Anca Sipos (185-85) nailed 16 points and 6 assists for the winning side and forward Alina Chivu (176-90) accounted for 11 points and 5 rebounds. Four Alexandria players scored in double figures. Forward Janina Simionca (176-84) came up with 15 points and 6 rebounds and guard Andreea Gliga (168-92) added 16 points respectively for Craiova in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alexandria moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Sf.Gheorghe. Craiova lost fourteenth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Targu Mures. Alexandria will play against higher ranked CSM Targoviste (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Craiova will play against Satu Mare (#6) to get more than just one victory in their record.
