There was a minor upset when higher ranked Olin Edirne (6-11) was crushed at home by fourteenth ranked Trabzonspor (6-11) 96-73 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Trabzonspor. Olin Edirne was better in second period 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. Trabzonspor outrebounded Olin Edirne 35-20 including 22 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Jerome Randle (175-87, college: California) chipped in 22 points and 6 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Five Trabzonspor players scored in double figures. FYR Macedonian-American point guard Darius Washington (188-85, college: Memphis) produced 22 points and 4 assists and guard Baris Guney (193-83, agency: 1x1 Sports) added 16 points and 8 assists respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Trabzonspor. They moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Olin Edirne. Olin Edirne lost their fourth game in a row. Trabzonspor will face Mersin (#11) in Akdeniz in the next round.
