Regular Season Round 26: Suduva-Mantinga - Mazeikiai 84-78

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Mazeikiai (20-4) in Marijampole on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by twelfth ranked Suduva-Mantinga (9-15) 84-78. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Mazeikiai. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Mazeikiai won third quarter 23-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Suduva-Mantinga made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Mazeikiai helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Point guard Zilvinas Kuklierius (180-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Ignas Labutis (199-94) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Raimondas Petrauskas replied with 18 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Ignas Razutis (185-87) added 11 points and 6 assists in the effort for Mazeikiai. Four Suduva-Mantinga and five Mazeikiai players scored in double figures. Suduva-Mantinga moved-up to tenth place, which they share with JAZZ-KTU. Mazeikiai at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Suduva-Mantinga is looking forward to face Palanga (#13) on the road in the next round. Mazeikiai will play against JAZZ-KTU (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
