There was a small surprise in Izmir where thirteenth ranked Tarsus Bld (4-14) smashed 11th ranked Konak (6-12) 90-69 on Saturday. The game without a history. Tarsus Bld led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Tarsus Bld especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Konak's players. American point guard Natasha Lacy (178-85, college: UTEP, agency: Merit Management Group) had a triple-double by scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds and 18 assists to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Burcu Cigil (180-90) chipped in 15 points during the contest. Four Tarsus Bld players scored in double figures. Tarsus Bld's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American forward LaToya Thomas (188-81, college: Mississippi St.) with 26 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and Croatian guard Andja Jelavic (172-80, agency: 1x1 Sports) scored 10 points and 5 assists. Tarsus Bld maintains thirteenth position with 4-14 record. Konak lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Orduspor and Ceyhan Bld. Tarsus Bld's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Mersin Mersin.
