Regular Season Round 18: Mulkiye - Yakin Dogu 80-73

There was a change at the TKB2L leadership position after last games. Round 18 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Yakin Dogu (11-4). They were defeated by second ranked Mulkiye (11-3) 80-73 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Yakin Dogu. It was a key game for the top position in Group C. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 46-35 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Mulkiye forced 21 Yakin Dogu turnovers. Forward Melda Baltaci (180-92) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Dilek Topdemir (-92) chipped in 22 points and 8 assists during the contest. Four Mulkiye players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Nigerian center Aisha Mohammed (191-85, college: Virginia) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and Havva Arabaccoglu (-98) scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Mulkiye keeps a position of Group C leader, which they share with Mersin Univ. Yakin Dogu at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the third place with four games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Cankaya. Yakin Dogu will play next round against Kocaeli trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Mulkiye will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Mersin Univ. on the road.
