Regular Season Round 19: Tonybet - Juventus 77-76

Ninth-ranked Juventus (8-12) gave a tough game to first ranked Tonybet (18-4) in Prienai on Saturday. Tonybet managed to secure only one-point victory 77-76. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 23-15 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Tonybet made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Juventus helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for forward Martynas Linkevicius (197-85) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward Arturas Valeika (207-85, college: Midland CC) helped adding 18 points. Four Tonybet players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Edgaras Stanionis (194-88) responded with 16 points and center Karolis Petrukonis (212-87, college: Clemson) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Tonybet have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 18-4 record. Juventus at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 12 games lost. Tonybet are looking forward to face Lietuvos rytas (#4) in Vilnius in the next round. Juventus will play on the road against Neptunas in Klaipeda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
