Regular Season Round 15: Mladost - Leotar 81-72

Not a big story in a game in Mrkonjic Grad where 6th ranked Leotar (7-8) was defeated by first ranked Mladost (12-3) 81-72 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Leotar won third quarter 26-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Leotar 35-15 including a 17-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Leotar was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for center Obrad Tomic (207-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Dragan Djuranovic (204-88) helped adding 15 points and 8 rebounds. Five Mladost players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Serbian guard Ivan Vukadinov (193-81) with 27 points and Serbian point guard Niksa Nikolic (196-91, agency: Beo Basket) scored 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Leotar's coach Marko Icelic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mladost have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 12-3 record. Leotar at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Mladost will face Varda HE (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Leotar will play against Kakanj and hope to win that game.
