Regular Season Round 19: Balikesir - Akhisar Bld 67-72

Very expected game when 12th ranked Balikesir (9-10) lost at home to fifth ranked Akhisar Bld (12-7) 72-67 on Saturday. Balikesir was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 19-13 charge of Akhisar Bld, which allowed them to win the game. It was a very good performance for American forward Darrius Morrow (203-90, college: E.Carolina, agency: Three Eye Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Emre Ozpulat (200-82) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Akhisar Bld players scored in double figures. American forward Juan Pattillo (201-88, college: W.Kentucky) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 16 rebounds and the other American import point guard Dante Swanson (178-81, college: Tulsa) added 13 points in the effort for Balikesir. Balikesir's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Akhisar Bld moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Balikesir lost their third game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with ten games lost. Akhisar Bld will face ITU Istanbul (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Balikesir will play against Gelism in Izmir and hope to win that game.
