Proliga top team - FC Porto Ferpinta (14-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they beat seventh ranked Academia (7-8) 85-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Academia. The game was mostly controlled by FC Porto Ferpinta. Academia managed to win second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for international Miguel Queiroz (202-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Power forward Joao Torrie (200-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Four FC Porto Ferpinta players scored in double figures. FC Porto Ferpinta's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Angolan forward Benedito Suca (196-84) answered with 15 points and 8 rebounds and Ba Cassama added 13 points in the effort for Academia. FC Porto Ferpinta have a solid series of four victories in a row. FC Porto Ferpinta maintains first place with 14-1 record, which they share with Illiabum. Newly promoted Academia keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. FC Porto Ferpinta is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Leca (#12) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Academia will play against Esgueira (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
