Regular Season Round 15: Oberhausen - Wasserburg 74-75

Tenth-ranked Oberhausen (5-10) made lots of trouble for first ranked TSV 1880 Wasserburg (14-1) on Saturday. The visitors from Wasserburg managed to secure only one-point victory 75-74. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Oberhausen won third quarter 22-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American Emma Cannon (187-89, college: Cent.Florida) who scored 24 points and 8 rebounds. International Anne Breitreiner (184-84, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Monique Reid (185-90, college: Louisville) who recorded 21 points and 6 rebounds and Fijian guard Valerie Nainima (168-86, college: S.Carolina) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively. Four Oberhausen players scored in double figures. Oberhausen's coach Katja Zberch rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. TSV 1880 Wasserburg have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 14-1 record. Oberhausen at the other side keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. TSV 1880 Wasserburg are looking forward to face Don Bosco Bamberg (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Oberhausen will play against SV Halle Lions and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
