There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Hertener Loewen (7-10) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (4-13) 99-86 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Herzoege Wolfenbuettel. Hertener Loewen was better in second period 26-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was guard Arber Tolaj (191-93) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Stephen Schubert (205-92) chipped in 25 points and 9 rebounds. Four Herzoege Wolfenbuettel players scored in double figures. American center Blake Poole (195-88, college: St.Martin's) produced a double-double by scoring 32 points and 16 rebounds and the other American import point guard Matt Reid (185-84, college: Cameron) added 26 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for the guests. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel maintains eleventh place in Group North with 4-13 record. Loser Hertener Loewen dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel will face higher ranked BSW Sixers (#10) in Sandersdorf in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
