Regular Season Round 19: Urla BLD - Kastamonu 83-71

The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Urla BLD's (2-13) home victory over bottom-ranked Kastamonu (0-15) 83-71 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Urla BLD. Kastamonu was better in third quarter 24-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Urla BLD dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Kastamonu's 40. Urla BLD forced 24 Kastamonu turnovers and outrebounded them 54-43 including a 41-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kastamonu was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Irem Tanisdil (-95) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Hulya Cakici (-88) chipped in 32 points and 4 assists. Gonul Atli produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and Yazimci Nagehan added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Urla BLD maintains eighth place in Group C with 2-13 record. Kastamonu lost their fifteenth game in a row. Kastamonu at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Urla BLD will face higher ranked Mulkiye (#3) in Ankara in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kastamonu will play at home against Bursa BSB (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
