Regular Season Round 17: Horsholm - Vaerlose 79-68

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Horsholm (10-5) defeated at home 8th ranked Vaerlose (3-13) 79-68 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Horsholm. Vaerlose managed to win second period 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Horsholm forced 20 Vaerlose turnovers. The best player for the winners was swingman Maja Gerlyng-Hansen (180-88, college: Siena) who scored 18 points. Forward Anemone Scheel (184-95) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. Five Horsholm players scored in double figures. Forward Alberte Dokkedal (186-91) produced 22 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and naturalized Saudi Arabian guard Hanna Sheikh (180-92) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Horsholm maintains third place with 10-5 record having six points less than leader SISU. Vaerlose at the other side keeps the eighth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Virum. Horsholm are looking forward to face league's leader SISU in Copenhagen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vaerlose will play on the road against the league's second-placed Amager (#2) in Kastrup and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
