Regular Season Round 20: Hacettepe - Ankara DSI Era 69-88

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Ankara DSI Era (13-7) outleveled on the road bottom-ranked Hacettepe (3-17) 88-69 on Friday. The game without a history. Ankara DSI Era led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Hacettepe's 22 and made 28-of-34 free shots (82.4 percent) during the game. Ankara DSI Era forced 19 Hacettepe turnovers. Hacettepe was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Hakan Erol (200-83) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 assists and American point guard Lamar Karim (178-83, college: So.Poly State, agency: Interperformances) who added 17 points during the contest. American power forward Keith Chamberlain (204-87, college: Grinnell) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds and forward Atakan Denk (194-91) scored 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ankara DSI Era moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Hacettepe lost fourteenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Ankara DSI Era will face Antalya (#9) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Hacettepe's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Ankara to the arena Maliye Milli.
