Regular Season Round 27: Nafta Univers. - Olimpas 97-76

Rather predictable result in Klaipeda where eleventh ranked Nafta Univers. (10-16) smashed 14th ranked Olimpas (7-20) 97-76. The game was mostly controlled by Nafta Univers.. Olimpas was better in fourth quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Nafta Univers. forced 21 Olimpas turnovers and outrebounded them 40-26 including a 26-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Nafta Univers. players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Olimpas' players. It was an exceptional evening for forward Donatas Norkus (196-90) who led the winners and scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Viktoras Chodosovskis (200-89) accounted for 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Nafta Univers.'s coach Rytis Vaisvila felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. French forward Dainius Vaitelis (200-86) came up with 17 points and 5 rebounds and center Deividas Keburys (201-90) added 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) respectively for Olimpas in the defeat. Five Nafta Univers. and four Olimpas players scored in double figures. Nafta Univers. moved-up to tenth place. Olimpas at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with 20 games lost. Nafta Univers. will play against higher ranked Vilnius-MRU (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Olimpas will play against the league's second-placed Trakai (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
