Regular Season Round 18: BSW Sixers - Wolfenbuettel 105-87

The game between closely ranked teams ended with tenth ranked BSW Sixers' (6-12) home victory over 11th ranked Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (4-14) in Sandersdorf 105-87 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by BSW Sixers. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel was better in fourth quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Herzoege Wolfenbuettel 40-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. BSW Sixers looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American power forward Nate Gerwig (206-83, college: Kent St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import Jordan McCoy (198-91, college: Florida Atlantic) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. BSW Sixers' coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Demetrius Ward (190-90, college: W.Michigan) replied with 30 points and 8 rebounds and Canadian forward Ismar Seferagic (201-94) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Herzoege Wolfenbuettel. Five BSW Sixers and four Herzoege Wolfenbuettel players scored in double figures. BSW Sixers maintains tenth position in Group North with 6-12 record. Loser Herzoege Wolfenbuettel keeps the eleventh place with 14 games lost. BSW Sixers will face higher ranked Hertener Loewen (#9) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel will play against Bochum and hope to win that game.
