There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked TG Neuss (6-10) defeated on the road 8th ranked Hagen Phoenix (7-9) 62-50 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 37-20 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. TG Neuss forced 23 Hagen Phoenix turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when TG Neuss made 7 blocks. American point guard Shacondra James (172, college: Cent.Florida) fired 10 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Power forward Jana Heinrich (188-86, college: San Diego St.) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Chantal Neuwald (180-95) produced 9 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Elina Stahmeyer (180-91) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Hagen Phoenix's coach Ulrich Overhoff tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. TG Neuss maintains eleventh position in North with 6-10 record.
