Regular Season Round 20: Sakarya - Gure 60-74

Rather expected game when 7th ranked Sakarya (4-10) lost at home to fourth ranked Gure (7-7) 74-60 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Gure. Sakarya was better in third quarter 20-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Sakarya's 30. They outrebounded Sakarya 46-21 including a 31-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Gure especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a very good performance for Serbian power forward Jelena Budimir (192-85, college: Bethel, TN, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists. Selin Oztekin (-90) contributed with 7 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Ozgenur Gun (-91) replied with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Simge Gizdem (-92) added 16 points, 5 assists and 7 steals in the effort for Sakarya. Gure maintains fourth position in Group B with 7-7 record. Loser Sakarya dropped to the sixth place with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
