Regular Season Round 18: Alexandria - Targoviste 53-73

The game in Alexandria supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked CSM Targoviste (14-3) played at the court of 5th ranked Alexandria (12-5). CSM Targoviste did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 73-53 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by CSM Targoviste. Alexandria was better in fourth quarter 18-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CSM Targoviste forced 25 Alexandria turnovers. Alexandria was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American-FYR Macedonian Chrissy Givens (180-85, college: Middle Tenn.St.) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American center Jenna Smith (191-88, college: Illinois) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Shanita Arnold (165-89, college: Arizona, agency: Gamble Sports Management) with 12 points and 4 assists and the former international forward Georgiana Rus (189-87) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. CSM Targoviste have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Loser Alexandria keeps the fifth position with five games lost. CSM Targoviste will face Rapid (#11) in Bucuresti in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Alexandria will play at home against Satu Mare (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
