Regular Season Round 16: Marburg - Chemnitz 60-58

The most exciting game of round 16 in the DBBL took place in Marburg. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengers ChemCats Chemnitz (9-7) to sixth ranked BC Pharmaserv Marburg (9-7) 60-58 in the game for the third place. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But ChemCats Chemnitz won fourth quarter 16-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Margret Skuballa (186-87) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Kellindra Zackery (182-88, college: Newman) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American forward Candace Williams (184-88, college: New Hampshire) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds and international point guard Tina Menz (175-88) added 19 points in the effort for ChemCats Chemnitz. ChemCats Chemnitz's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. BC Pharmaserv Marburg moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated ChemCats Chemnitz. ChemCats Chemnitz lost third consecutive game. BC Pharmaserv Marburg is looking forward to face Oberhausen (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ChemCats Chemnitz will play against Herner TC (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
