There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Take-Off Wuerzburg (9-7) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked TG 1889 Sandhausen (7-9) 82-71 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by TG 1889 Sandhausen. Take-Off Wuerzburg was better in second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TG 1889 Sandhausen made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. American point guard Roshaunda Barnes (165-89, college: Tulane) fired 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. Center Franziska Baumann (179-86) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four TG 1889 Sandhausen players scored in double figures. Canadian guard Debbie Yeboah (168) produced 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) and Rebekka Margareta He Jaeger added 13 points respectively for lost side. TG 1889 Sandhausen moved-up to sixth place in South, which they share with Mainz and Weiterstadt. Loser Take-Off Wuerzburg keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. TG 1889 Sandhausen will face higher ranked Speyer / Schifferstadt (#4) in Dudenhofen in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Take-Off Wuerzburg will play at home against the league's leader Gruner Stern Keltern and hope to win that game.
