Very important is a home loss of second ranked Baskets Grunberg (9-7) against tenth ranked Lichterfelde (7-9) on Sunday night. Host Baskets Grunberg was defeated by Lichterfelde in a tough game in Gruenberg 53-58. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Baskets Grunberg. Baskets Grunberg trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 16-9 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 53-58 at the end of the game. Lichterfelde dominated on the defensive end, holding Baskets Grunberg to just 7 points in third and fourth quarters. They made 16-of-16 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Lena Gohlisch (173-93) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 rebounds and Noemie Rouault (180-95) who added 12 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side international Ama Degbeon (185-95) responded with 8 points and 12 rebounds and Natascha Heuser scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Baskets Grunberg's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lichterfelde have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place in North, which they share with Krofdorf/Gleib. and Hagen Phoenix. Loser Baskets Grunberg dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Opladen. Lichterfelde will meet at home league's second-placed BG 74 Veilchen in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Baskets Grunberg will play against SG BBZ Opladen in Leverkusen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
