Regular Season Round 20: TBB Trier - Art.Dragons 64-72
Date: February 9, 2014
There was no surprise when 14th ranked TBB Trier (7-14) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Artland Dragons (13-7) 72-64. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But TBB Trier won third quarter 22-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded TBB Trier 40-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American swingman Brandon Thomas (198-84, college: Massachusetts, agency: Three Eye Sports) who scored that evening 21 points and American-Cypriot power forward Anthony King (206-85, college: Miami, FL, agency: Interperformances) supported him with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Even 10 points and 6 rebounds by international center Andreas Seiferth (209-89, agency: LUMANI 10.7) did not help to save the game for TBB Trier. American-Puerto Rican point guard TreVon Hughes (184-87, college: Wisconsin) added 12 points and 5 assists for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Artland Dragons maintains fifth position with 13-7 record. TBB Trier lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 14 games lost. Artland Dragons' next round opponent will be s Oliver Baskets (#16) in Wuerzburg which should be an easy win for them. TBB Trier will play on the road against SC Rasta Vechta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
