Very expected game when 13th ranked Craiova (1-17) was crushed at home by fourth ranked CSM Targoviste (14-3) 106-37 on Tuesday. The game without a history. CSM Targoviste led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Craiova to just 6 points in first and second quarters and to 12 points in first half. CSM Targoviste dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Craiova's 28. CSM Targoviste forced 42 Craiova turnovers. American point guard Porsche Poole (172-89, college: Michigan St.) scored 22 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American-FYR Macedonian Chrissy Givens (180-85, college: Middle Tenn.St.) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five CSM Targoviste players scored in double figures. CSM Targoviste's coach Dan Fleseriu felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was forward Janina Simionca (176-84) with 13 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Irina Bors (178-88) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. CSM Targoviste have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Craiova lost sixteenth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom. CSM Targoviste will face Rapid (#11) in Bucuresti in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Craiova will play at home against Galati and hope to win that game.
