Regular Season Round 19: DniproAzot - Azovmash 57-85

The game with biggest result difference took place in Dniprodzerzhynsk. Local DniproAzot (2-15) was outscored by sixth ranked Azovmash (11-7) 85-57. Azovmash dominated on the defensive end, holding DniproAzot to just 5 points in third quarter. They outrebounded DniproAzot 49-34 including 34 on the defensive glass. Azovmash players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Australian-Dutch power forward Daniel Kickert (208-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 7 rebounds. The former international center Igor Zaytsev (210-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Four Azovmash players scored in double figures. Azovmash's coach Zvezdan Mitrovic felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American point guard Donald Sims (185-87, college: Appalachian St.) answered with 22 points and 4 assists and Lithuanian point guard Gediminas Maceina (188-84) added 4 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for DniproAzot. The victory was the third consecutive win for Azovmash. They moved-up to fourth place. DniproAzot lost their fifth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Azovmash will play against Dnipro (#13) in Dnepropetrovsk in the next round and are hoping to win another game. DniproAzot will play at home against Mykolaiv and hopes to get back on the winning track.
