Regular Season Round 22: Crailsheim - Ehingen 79-66

Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (13-9) was defeated on the road by second ranked Crailsheim Merlins (17-5) 79-66. The game without a history. Crailsheim Merlins led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Ehingen/Urspringschule's 22. Crailsheim Merlins forced 21 Ehingen/Urspringschule turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Ehingen/Urspringschule helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a very good performance for American point guard Carlos Medlock (183-87, college: E.Michigan) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 6 assists. Cuban swingman Yorman Polas (192-85) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. American guard Carlton Guyton (193-90, college: Kent St.) replied with 15 points and 4 assists (made all of his eight free throws) and his fellow American import power forward Taylor Rohde (205-90, college: Alaska-Anch.) added 6 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) in the effort for Ehingen/Urspringschule. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Crailsheim Merlins have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 17-5 record having just two points less than leader Goettingen. Ehingen/Urspringschule at the other side keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. Crailsheim Merlins' next round opponent will be Giessen 46ers (#4) at home. Ehingen/Urspringschule will play against Bayer Giants and hope to win that game.
