Regular Season Round 29: Nafta Univers. - Suduva-Mantinga 72-80

There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked Suduva-Mantinga (10-16) beat 10th ranked Nafta Univers. (10-17) in Klaipeda 80-72. The game without a history. Suduva-Mantinga led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Strangely Nafta Univers. outrebounded Suduva-Mantinga 39-27 including 25 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Marius Valukonis (198-88) who scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Donatas Sabeckis (196-92) chipped in 10 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Four Suduva-Mantinga players scored in double figures. Forward Viktoras Chodosovskis (200-89) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Dominikas Matutis (180-91) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Suduva-Mantinga moved-up to tenth place. Nafta Univers. at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Suduva-Mantinga's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Trakai at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nafta Univers. will play against Zanavykas (#9) in Sakiai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
