Regular Season Round 22: Bayer Giants - Goettingen 64-89

ProA top team - BG Goettingen (19-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed thirteenth ranked Bayer Giants (7-15) in Leverkusen 89-64. It looked good early as Bayer Giants took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then BG Goettingen had a 23-9 second period charge getting the lead and Bayer Giants were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 64-89. BG Goettingen shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Americans were the main players on the court. Center Harper Kamp (203-88, college: California) notched 15 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and guard Alex Ruoff (198-86, college: W.Virginia) supported him with 13 points and 5 assists. Even 18 points and 5 rebounds by guard Marc Sonnen (190-90, college: N.Iowa) did not help to save the game for Bayer Giants. John Eggleston (203-88, college: Pennsylvania) added 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BG Goettingen have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 19-3 record. Newly promoted Bayer Giants keep the thirteenth place with 15 games lost. BG Goettingen will play against Oettinger Rockets Gotha (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bayer Giants will play against Ehingen/Urspringschule in Allmendingen and hope to get back on the winning track.
