An exciting game was played in Kyiv. First ranked Dynamo faced 3rd ranked Tim-Scuf. Host Dynamo (16-2) defeated guests from Kyiv (6-12) 79-70. The hosts were already 12 points ahead at halftime and as many as 20 after three quarters before a 25-14 last quarter charge of Tim-Scuf cut the lead to 79-70 at the end of the game. Dynamo made 23-of-30 charity shots (76.7 percent) during the game, while Tim-Scuf only scored seven points from the stripe. Dynamo forced 19 Tim-Scuf turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Tim-Scuf was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Nicole Michael (188-87, college: Syracuse, agency: Two Points) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international guard Arina Markotenko (170-89) contributed with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Dynamo players scored in double figures. Center Miriam Uro-Nilie (190-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and forward Lyudmyla Naumenko (188-93) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Tim-Scuf. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion maintains first position with 16-2 record. Tim-Scuf at the other side keeps the third place with 12 games lost. Dynamo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tim-Scuf will play against Interkhim in Odessa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
