Regular Season Round 21: EWE Baskets - NY Phantoms 95-70

Very predictable result when fourth ranked EWE Baskets (15-6) rolled over 12th ranked New Yorker Phantoms (9-12) in Oldenburg 95-70 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by EWE Baskets. New Yorker Phantoms was better in fourth quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded New Yorker Phantoms 37-22 including 26 on the defensive glass. EWE Baskets shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 61.5 percentage. New Yorker Phantoms were plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard Rickey Paulding (196-82, college: Missouri, agency: Pro One Sports) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Chris Kramer (191-88, college: Purdue) contributed with 13 points for the winners. American guard Immanuel McElroy (194-80, college: Cincinnati) answered with 14 points and center Maurice Pluskota (208-92) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for New Yorker Phantoms. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. EWE Baskets maintains fourth place with 15-6 record. Loser New Yorker Phantoms keep the twelfth position with 12 games lost. EWE Baskets will face TBB Trier (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. New Yorker Phantoms will play against EnBW Ludwigsburg and hope to win that game.
