Regular Season Round 15: Lusitania - Galitos-Tley 79-66

An interesting game took place in Angra, where 8th ranked Galitos-Tley (5-9) lost to eleventh ranked Lusitania (5-8) in a road game 66-79 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Lusitania. Galitos-Tley was better in fourth quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lusitania looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Marcel Momplaisir (205-81, college: Rhode Island, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import point guard Jaime Smith (191-89, college: Al.-Huntsville) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Lusitania players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Miguel Minhava (195-83) who recorded 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and American forward Quinton Doggett (203, college: Southern) added 20 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Lusitania moved-up to ninth place. Loser Galitos-Tley dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. Lusitania will face higher ranked Ovarense (#8) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Galitos-Tley will play against the league's second-placed Vitoria SC where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
