Regular Season Round 19: Budivelnyk - Ferro-ZNTU 89-80

There was no surprise in Kyiv where 5th ranked Ferro-ZNTU (11-8) was defeated by third ranked Budivelnyk (12-6) 89-80. They made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Budivelnyk players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Lithuanian center Michailis Anisimovas (216-84) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). American forward DaJuan Summers (203-88, college: Georgetown, agency: Priority Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five Budivelnyk players scored in double figures. Budivelnyk's coach Ainars Bagatskis allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Anthony Marshall (190-91, college: UNLV) answered with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import center LaRon Dendy (205-88, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: David Lee services) added 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Ferro-ZNTU. Defending champion maintains third place with 12-6 record having just two points less than leader BC Donetsk. Ferro-ZNTU lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with BC Odessa. Budivelnyk will play against Halychyna (#7) in Lviv in the next round. Ferro-ZNTU will play at home against Cherkasy and hopes to get back on the winning track.
