Very predictable result when third ranked Svendborg (15-5) defeated at home 8th ranked Horsholm (8-13) 78-66. The game was mostly controlled by Svendborg. Horsholm was better in third quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Svendborg especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.1 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for American center William Paul (208-88, college: Arkansas Tech) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. His fellow American import point guard Johnell Smith (180-80, college: New Orleans) accounted for 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Five Svendborg players scored in double figures. Svendborg's coach Craig Pedersen allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Brenton Butler (188-87, college: Fordham) came up with 16 points and forward Daniel Mortensen (202-94) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Horsholm in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Svendborg. They maintain third place with 15-5 record behind leader Bakken. Horsholm lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with Aalborg. Svendborg will play against Naestved (#6) on the road in the next round. Horsholm will play against Horsens IC and hopes to get back on the winning track.
