Twelfth-ranked Olin Edirne (6-12) was very close to win a game against sixth ranked Usak (11-7) on Sunday. Usak managed to secure only ten-point victory 108-98. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 33-25 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 10-point victory in overtime. Usak made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. Usak had a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton) notched 32 points and 7 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the effort and naturalized Azerbaijani Orhan Haciyeva (200-89) supported him with 16 points and 16 rebounds. Usak's coach Ozan Bulkaz allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 42 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists by FYR Macedonian-American point guard Darius Washington (188-85, college: Memphis) did not help to save the game for Olin Edirne. American center Torin Francis (210-83, college: Notre Dame) added 14 points and 7 rebounds. Five Usak and four Olin Edirne players scored in double figures. Usak moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Karsiyaka. Olin Edirne lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Turk Telekom and Mersin. Usak will meet Mersin (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Olin Edirne will play against TED Kolejliler and hope to secure a win.
