Rather expected game when 11th ranked Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (4-15) was crushed at home by eighth ranked Bochum (9-10) 105-77 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 105-77. Bochum outrebounded Herzoege Wolfenbuettel 40-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. Bochum looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Ryon Howard (198-84, college: Sacred Heart) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 19 rebounds and 6 assists. Naturalized Tunisian guard Chamseddine Korbi (188-83) helped adding 29 points and 4 assists. At the losing side American guard Demetrius Ward (190-90, college: W.Michigan) responded with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and Canadian forward Ismar Seferagic (201-94) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Bochum moved-up to seventh place in Group North, which they share with Recklinghausen. Loser Herzoege Wolfenbuettel keeps the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Bochum will face BSW Sixers (#10) in Sandersdorf in the next round. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel will play on the road against the league's second-placed Hannover Tigers having rather not much hope for a victory.
