Regular Season Round 19: Stade - Schwelm 55-68

Date: February 16, 2014
Very predictable result when third ranked SG Schwelmer Baskets (13-6) defeated on the road 12th ranked Stade (3-15) 68-55 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by SG Schwelmer Baskets. Stade was better in second period 10-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. SG Schwelmer Baskets made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game, while Stade only scored six points from the stripe. It was a great evening for naturalized Serbian center Mirko Anastasov (207-84, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Brandon Hogg (186-89, college: S.Indiana, agency: R.H.Consultancy) helped adding 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four SG Schwelmer Baskets players scored in double figures. At the losing side Marvin Steinberg (200-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks and American forward Davon Roberts (197-86, college: Azusa Pacific) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. SG Schwelmer Baskets moved-up to second place in Group North, which they share with Hannover. Loser Stade keeps the twelfth position with 15 games lost. SG Schwelmer Baskets will face Recklinghausen (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Stade will play against Oldenburg (#4) and hope to win that game.
