Regular Season Round 21: Tonybet - Lietkabelis 83-73

LKL top team - Tonybet (19-5) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat tenth ranked Lietkabelis (6-16) in Prienai 83-73. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Lietkabelis. The game was mostly controlled by Tonybet. Lietkabelis was better in third quarter 22-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-28 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Lietkabelis was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Arturas Valeika (207-85, college: Midland CC) stepped up and scored 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and forward Laimonas Kisielius (203-85, college: William & Mary) chipped in 19 points. Four Tonybet players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Russian center Ivan Nelyubov (207-88) with 9 points and 15 rebounds and American guard Darrick Leonard (190-84, college: Aurora) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tonybet maintains first place with 19-5 record. Lietkabelis at the other side keeps the tenth position with 16 games lost. Tonybet will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lietkabelis will play on the road against Lietuvos rytas (#3) in Vilnius and hopes to get back on the winning track.
