Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (8-10) was outscored on the road by first ranked Rotenburg/Scheessel (15-3) 87-50 on Saturday. The game without a history. Rotenburg/Scheessel led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel's 20. Rotenburg/Scheessel forced 35 Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel turnovers. It was a good game for American guard Janae Young (183-87, college: Pacific) who led her team to a victory with 23 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. Forward Hannah Pakulat (180-94) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Five Rotenburg/Scheessel players scored in double figures. American guard Iwalani Rodrigues (175, college: Utah) replied with 17 points and swingman Leonie Rosemeyer (182) added 5 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rotenburg/Scheessel will face Lichterfelde (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel will play against Hagen Phoenix and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the DBBL just one year after relegation.
