Very expected game when 7th ranked Lichterfelde (8-10) was smashed on the road by second ranked Hannover (12-6) 89-69 on Sunday. The game without a history. Hannover led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Lichterfelde's 34 and made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Lichterfelde 37-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for the former international guard Dorothea Richter (176-83) who led her team to a victory with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). American guard Rayven Johnson (173-91, college: NJIT) contributed with 24 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Hannover's coach Rodger Battersby used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Satou Sabally (184-98) replied with 16 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Kristin Greiner (169) added 14 points in the effort for Lichterfelde. Hannover have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position in North with 12-6 record having just three points less than leader BG 89 Avides. Newly promoted Lichterfelde keeps the seventh place with ten games lost. Hannover will face SG BBZ Opladen (#3) in Leverkusen in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Lichterfelde will play at home against the league's leader Rotenburg/Scheessel (#1) and hope to win that game.
