Second ranked Fenerbahce Ulker (15-4) crushed at home 16th ranked Aliaga (3-16) by 33 points 89-56, which is the biggest margin this round. The game was mostly controlled by Fenerbahce Ulker. Aliaga was better in second period 15-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fenerbahce Ulker dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Aliaga's 36. They outrebounded Aliaga 41-26 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Fenerbahce Ulker players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Aliaga's players. Worth to mention a great performance of international swingman Melih Mahmutoglu (193-90) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 assists. Metecan Birsen (205-95) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Fenerbahce Ulker players scored in double figures. American swingman Sean Marshall (198-85, college: Boston Coll., agency: Beo Basket) answered with 24 points and Serbian power forward Dragan Labovic (207-87, agency: Alti Sport) added 15 points in the effort for Aliaga. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Fenerbahce Ulker. They maintain second place with 15-4 record having just three points less than leader Banvit BK. Aliaga at the other side stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Fenerbahce Ulker's next round opponent will be Tofas (#7) in Bursa which should be theoretically another easy game. Aliaga will play on the road against Karsiyaka (#6) and hope to win that game.
