Second Stage Round 2: SISU - Horsholm 86-61

Date: February 25, 2014
An exciting game was played in Copenhagen. SISU faced Horsholm. Host SISU (1-1) smashed guests from Horsholm (0-2) 86-61. It looked good early as Horsholm took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then SISU had a 22-14 second period charge getting the lead and Horsholm was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 61-86. SISU forced 24 Horsholm turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Horsholm helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Heidi Anton (175-90, college: USF) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Kiki Lund (177-83, college: Dayton) supported her with 25 points and 6 assists. Four SISU players scored in double figures. Even 7 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists by Bosnian power forward Ivana Jovanovic (185-85) did not help to save the game for Horsholm. Forward Anemone Scheel (184-95) added 13 points for the guests. Horsholm's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. SISU's next round opponent will be Lemvig (#3) at home, which may be the game of the day. Horsholm will play against Amager in Kastrup and hope to win that game.
