There was no surprise in Braunschweig where 11th ranked New Yorker Phantoms (10-13) were defeated by second ranked Brose Baskets (18-3) 86-82 on Wednesday. New Yorker Phantoms trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 32-22 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 82-86 at the end of the game. New Yorker Phantoms were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Trinidad and Tobago-American center D'or Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American power forward Sharrod Ford (206-82, college: Clemson, agency: Pro One Sports) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Brose Baskets' coach Chris Fleming used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Isaiah Swann (188-85, college: Florida St.) produced 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import guard Immanuel McElroy (194-80, college: Cincinnati) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five Brose Baskets and four New Yorker Phantoms players scored in double figures. Brose Baskets have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 18-3 record having 2 victories less than leader B.Muenchen. Loser New Yorker Phantoms dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost.
