Regular Season Round 24: Final Genclik - Maliye Milli 77-85

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Bursa where 13th ranked Final Genclik (10-13) was defeated by fourteenth ranked Maliye Milli (10-14) 85-77 on Saturday. Final Genclik was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 25-13 charge of Maliye Milli, which allowed them to win the game. Final Genclik was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American swingman Vincent Grier (195-83, college: Minnesota) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Sahin Ekmen (203-89) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Marshall Moses (198-89, college: Oklahoma St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Erdem Ilter (188-90) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Final Genclik's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Maliye Milli maintains fourteenth position with 10-14 record. Final Genclik lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 13 games lost. Maliye Milli will face Pertevniyal (#17) in Istanbul in the next round.
