No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Karsiyaka (12-8) smashed at home bottom-ranked Aliaga (3-17) 89-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Karsiyaka. Aliaga managed to win fourth quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Karsiyaka dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Aliaga's 36. They outrebounded Aliaga 39-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Uruguayan-Spanish power forward Esteban Batista (208-83, agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 9 rebounds and the former international Baris Hersek (207-88) who added 13 points during the contest. Four Karsiyaka players scored in double figures. Swingman Ceyhun Altay (196-86, agency: Court Side) responded with 20 points and Serbian power forward Dragan Labovic (207-87, agency: Alti Sport) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Karsiyaka maintains sixth position with 12-8 record. Aliaga lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 17 games lost. Karsiyaka will meet Tofas (#10) in the next round. Aliaga will play against Trabzonspor (#12) and hope to secure a win.
